FS#101 - Cannot unmount SD card or USB stick through the GUI

When I rightclick and select "unmount" I always get an error, see below. unmounting from a terminal window works fine. Also see: http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?/topic/54353-unmount-sd-card-hdd/ "Unable to unmount .... Cannot open /media/.hal-mtab"

I'm also seeing this on my SDHC card. The only things i've installed are the codec pack and the Hotfix 2 bundle.

Yes I have this too with both my SDHC cards, in either SD slot.

This is due to Thunar tries to unmount with HAL whereas we use udev to automount. A workaroung would be hacking the mount script in /etc/scripts/mount.sh to create a HAL-compatible /media/.hal-mtab-file and change permissions to unmount to PolicyKit.

Good news everyone: Worked with BryceLeo on the mount script and it seems to be working fine now. BryceLeo has some problems with it, but it fully works on my unit. If anyone wants to help testing: Place that file in /etc/udev/scripts/ Thanks :)

Few fixes in the file. Known bugs: EXT2 doesn't seem to automount at the moment.

Just wanted to post the final, completely working version here, though it's already in the GIT, too. Will be included with HF5.

For removing mount-points, the scripts checks if the directory is empty and then uses "rm -r". May i suggest to simply use "rmdir" instead? This is safer and faster/cleaner IMHO.
