FS#250 - File Browser Thunar - Trashing file crosses filesystem boundaries!

Trashing a file/folder seems to MOVE it to a certain trash directory on the MAIN VOLUME, rather then the ORIGINATING VOLUME, hence this can result in a COPY RATHER THAN A MOVE operation, if the trashed file originates from a filesystem other than the main filesystem! This is very inefficient and faulty as it is: a) Very time consuming b) And in case of large files this operation can even fail due to not enough free space on the main volume.

Changed this to a feature request for the next full OS version. This is a feature (ok, a dumb one in our case but 'by design') however it seems very sensible to change this behaviour going forward. 2 ways to look at doing this, patch it out locally on the OpenPandora side :o or report it upstream to the Thunar/Xfce guys with our use case and set some feedback from them. Personally I would love to get upstreams take on how we may resolve the issue. John

I prefer reporting this upstream, as this bug very likely annoys all Thunar users, not only those on the Pandora! If nothing goes on upstream, than I hope that someone here patches it at least in the Pandora version.

Seems to be a duplicate of  FS#132  @admin: I cannot edit the duplicate or related issues attribute. Please do it for me! Thanks! Or you may consider fixing the issue tracker issues themselves, to put workload away from you to us. ;-)

The patch from 2012-12-29 offered through  FS#311  partially solves this issue. There is still no trash-per-filesystem — there's only one trash for all filesystems, and it is located on the NAND — but the default "delete" action in Thunar (contextual menu, file menu) is "delete immediately, with a prior warning", instead of "move to trash" located on the NAND.
